Rubber enclosures are resistant to rust, corrosion, and denting. The enclosure is resistant to mechanical shock, and impacts which increases the protection of the internal component’s vs other enclosure materials. The rubber enclosure allows more compact layout of components allowing the box to be smaller compared to a metal equivalent.

This is a safety practice commonly used in the Entertainment industry. Reversing certain cam connections makes it less likely that a ground or neutral would be mistaken for a phase. While usually only found in Entertainment equipment, it is neither an agreed upon practice within the industry nor is it required by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) or the National Electrical Code (NEC).
Cams are colored as a convention to Identify phases, (red black and blue for 120/240 VAC and neutral and ground wires. In the US NEC, only green and white colors are called out for ground and neutral. Red black and blue and conventions for phase colors at 120/240VAC. Brown Orange and Yellow are conventions for 277/480 VAC.
