Copper has recently been fluctating, but fortunately we are able to hold pricing except for two areas; type SC feeder cable extensions and bulk feeder and multi-cable. SC feeder cable extensions (#2, #4, #6, 2/0 and 4/0) are up 4% on average. We continue to be aggressive with our vendors to obtain the very best pricing to help you stay as competitive as possible. Last month we asked you what the mysterious 'Baghdad Batteries' were used for. The answer we were looking for was electroplating. Justin Wardell from Designlab Chicago, who came up with this question, provided this answer: "The Baghdad Batteries are believed to have been used in electroplating jewelry. The lack of auxiliary power distribution equipment, primitive light bulbs, or other equipment commonly associated with electrical usage have led experts to believe that their usage was in close proximity to the batteries themselves. It wasn't until the discovery of gold plated jewelry at the same site as other batteries similar to the Baghdad Batteries that provided that theory with real evidence." However, since the theory is not 100% confirmed, there were lots of answers we would have accepted Other answers included accupunture, religious experience, and magic to entertain royalty. The most creative answers came from Karl McNelly from PRG who searched through some conspiracy theories on the internet and included "a wild theory about creating an electrical fence to protect the Ark of the Covenant" and "aliens and Egyptians teaming up to light the pyramids." Crazy stuff! Thanks for your answers Karl and everyone else who submitted answers! This month's trivia question is courtesy of Andrew Atienza of FX Production Services, one of March's "Stump Lex" winners: What happens before and after every summer to the Las Vegas power grid and why should people who work with electricity be aware of it?
