Not long ago, it would have been difficult to find any dimming on film sets. That is rapidly changing as more D.O.P.s discover the advantages of controlling lamp intensity to create interesting lighting on set.

Lex Film Dimmers are specifically designed for these applications. With both local control and DMX they lend themselves to both complex and simple lighting configurations. Their durable construction will allow them to survive the rigors of on-set and location lighting. Finally they are filtered to broadcast standard levels, to keep the audio and post production departments happy as well.

Lex film dimmers are available in 6KW, 12KW and 24KW sizes and generally ship from stock.

Last month we asked: When cam connectors are used in 120/240 systems, the phase connectors are red, blue and black.  What colors are specifically used to identify the phases in a 277/480VAC system?

The answer is: When color coding is used for phase identification of cam connectors on  277/480VAC systems, the convention is brown, orange and yellow, commonly referred to as the boy colors.  Green remains the convention for ground and white for neutral, when one is present.

Over the past year we've given you many trivia questions and Lex customers have always risen to the challenge of answering them. This month, however, we're turning the tables. Send us your own trivia question and if you stump the Lex marketing crew we'll send you a prize pack and a trophy recognizing your industry knowledge. And even if you don't stump us we'll send out swag to the first 10 people who send in a question! Click here to try to stump us!
